Project 1155.1
Project 1155.1
The project 1155.1, also referred to as Udaloy II, is an improved variant of the Project 1155 class destroyer featuring eight Moskit supersonic anti-ship missiles instead of the eight SS-N-14 anti-submarine/anti-ship missiles, one 130mm two-barrel AK-130 gun replacing the AK-100 gun, and two Kasthan/Kortik close-in weapon systems with 64 missiles replacing four AK-630 gun systems. The Udaloy II incorporates the Udav-1 anti-submarine rocket system instead of RBU-6000. The torpedo tubes (2x4) were replaced by the RPK-2 anti-submarines missile system. Besides, the sensor system was improved as well with the sonar systems performance exceeding Udaloy I as well as the air defense system effectiveness against airborne threats. The Russian Navy commissioned a single Udaloy II destroyer in 1999 with two additional ships under construction at the time of the Soviet Union collapse being scrapped. An Udaloy I class destroyer was upgraded to the Udaloy II standard in 2013 also being deployed with the Russian Northern fleety. Udaloy II class destroyers will remain in the active duty well into the 2020s.
