Description

The Kyan Sitta is a multi-purpose stealth frigate built by Myanmar Naval Dockyard for the Myanmar Navy. The ship uses weapon systems and engines provided by Europe, Russia, China and India. The weapon system consists of a 76mm naval gun, three PJ-13 close-in weapon systems, six Igla-S surface-to-air missile systems, eight C-802 anti-ship missiles, two RBU-1200 anti-submarine rocket systems, two triple torpedo launchers and one Dauphin helicopter. The propulsion system consists of four PA6 STC diesel engines developing 5,700KW each. Only two frigates were built with the Myanmar focusing on more advanced surface combatants such as the Thalun-class. The Kyan Sitta frigate was commissioned in 2014.
