Description
The Russian Navy upgraded Antey nuclear-powered submarines equipped with cruise missiles are expected to enter service by 2022-2025. These ships will be equipped with Kalibr and Onyx subsonic and supersonic cruise missiles respectively replacing the aging Granit missiles. Besides, these ships will receive upgrades to their control systems and noise emissions will be reduced to enhance the submarine's survivability. The Russian Navy plans call for the upgrade of four boats by 2025. As of early 2021 the Russian Navy plans call for the upgrade of seven boats.
