Sea Dagger
Sea Dagger
The Sea Dagger is a series of special operations small, stealthy, and modular underwater vehicles. There are 4 different models performing attack (called SAS), autonomous swimmer delivery (ASDV), surveillance and minehunting (ASV), and as an underwater target for exercises and training (ATS) missions. Each Sea Dagger vehicle consists of three modules: stem, stern and middle. The stem and stern modules are common to all the Sea Dagger while the middle module changes depending on the mission profile. The displacement of the Sea Dagger ranges from 55 tons of the ATS to 72 tons of the ASDV vehcile. These submarines are equipped with a navigation suite comprising computer, gyroscope compass, speed log, depth gauge, echo sounder, GPS, navigation radar and optronic mast. The SAS vehicle is typically armed externally with mines and crew of four-man. The ASDV vehicle requires a crew of four men and can transport up to six swimmers delivering four of them simultaneously. The ASV is equipped with ESM and communications to relay information. The ASV vehicle only needs a crew of 4 men. The ATS vehicle can be operated by a crew of 3 men and offers excellent training simulating littoral warfare targets.
