Description
The AVibras Viaturas Blindadas Leves (AV-VBL), also known as AV-BL, is a 12-ton class all-terrain, high mobility, modular, multi-purpose armored vehicle derived from UNIMOG 4x4 off-road platform. The vehicle can be transported by a single C-130 Hercules aircraft and shows excellent performance in cross-country, desert, sand or mud, as well as under extreme environmental conditions. Typically within the Brazilian Armed Forces, the AV-VBL vehicles are deployed in support of the ASTROS II rocket artillery system.
