Description

The HISAR is a family of air defense missiles developed by Roketsan to protect military bases, ports, facilities and troops against airborne threats. These missiles are qualified to shoot down fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The missiles respond to a modular architecture and can be integrated into a wide range of platforms. Fired from vertical launching system the HISAR missiles provide 360-degree coverage. The propulsion system consists on dual-stage/pulse solid-propellant rocket motor with midcourse guidance via radio-frequency data link and terminal guidance by Imaging Infrared (IIR) seeker. The missiles carry a high explosive (HE) blast fragmentation warhead with both impact and proximity fuze.
