Description

The Harpsichord-2R is an improved unmanned underwater vehicle developed by Rubin to conduct oceanographic, geological exploration and survey and search work at the bottom of the oceans. The new submarine drone is an upgraded version of the Harpsichord vehicle also developed by Rubin Central Design Bureau. The 4-ton Harpsichord-2R can operate at depths of up to 6 kilometers and distances of over 150 kilometers equipped with cameras and data transmission systems to the carrier ship or submarine. The underwater vehicle can operate autonomously or using a hydroacoustic channel. The Harpsichord-2R was unveiled in August 2022 and the Russian Ministry of Defense is expected to become its first customer.
