The FAB-250 is a general purpose bomb employed by Russian Air Force tactical fighter aircraft carrying a 250 kilogram high explosive (HE) warhead. The FAB-250 bomb features a single nose fuze and a low drag, streamlined design. The former Soviet Union introduced the first models of the modern FAB-250 bomb in 1962. Since then this kind of unguided bomb has been employed in a variety of conflicts. It was employed during the Russian Air Force campaign in Syria in 2016 and 2017 with outstanding results being released by the Su-24M bombers with one meter circular error probable (CEP) thanks to the SVP-24 targeting module.
