Description
The US Department of Defense (DoD) Fifth Generation Aerial Target (5GAT) is a new stealth drone intended to simulate fifth generation fighter jets in air-to-air and air-to-surface engagements. It has been developed by Sierra Technical Services since 2017. The aircraft features two afterburning turbojet engines, 95 percent carbon fiber airframe, twin-tail, a seven meters wingspan and a 12 meters long airframe. The 5GAT prototype is expected to take to the skies in late October 2020 and enter into service before 2025.
