Description

The Primus 880 is an airborne, fully attitude-stabilized weather radar operating at 9345 ±25 MHz with a peak power of 12 kW. It displays weather in four intensity levels: green, yellow, red, and magenta, and includes turbulence detection. The system offers an instrumented range from 2.5 to 300 nautical miles and a scan sector of 120 degrees, with selectable beamwidths of 7.9°, 5.6°, or 4.2°. Depending on the aircraft's radar nose configuration, the unit can be equipped with a 12-inch, 18-inch, or 24-inch slotted waveguide antenna.
