Description

The Spice-250 is an autonomous, lighter and stealth variant of the Spice precision-guided weapon family with an estimated range in excess of 100 kilometers. The weapon features a real-time target update capability and can be equipped with a general purpose/blast fragmentation or penetrating warhead. The Spice-250 uses Inertial Navigation System (INS) and GPS for mid-course navigation while the end game is done using an electro-optical (EO) sensor based upon target imagery. Besides, it is insensitive to GPS jamming and can operate day/night in all weather conditions. It can be deployed by a wide variety of fighter aircraft with minor modifications. The Spice-250 is carried by the Smart Quad Rack (SQR) with each rack carrying up to four missiles. As of 2018 the Spice-250 is fully operational with the Israeli Air Force (IAF). The F-15I can carry 28 Spice-250s and the F-16I weapons.
