Description

The ASR-NG (Airport Surveillance Radar Next Generation) is a multi-beam 3D S-band solid-state radar system manufactured by HENSOLDT AG of Germany. Operating in the 2.7 to 2.9 GHz frequency range, it serves as a primary and secondary surveillance radar for approach and en-route air traffic control, meeting ICAO Annex 10 Volume III/IV and EUROCONTROL Surveillance Standard Requirements. The system features a fully digital Doppler detection and tracking solution with flexible, self-learning clutter and site optimization, an instrumented range of 220 or 160 km, and a range resolution of 150 m. It incorporates three independent feedhorns providing two Cosec² high beams and a pencil low beam, enabling 3D height measurement for the primary surveillance radar, and offers complete mitigation of wind farm effects and resistance to 4G/LTE mobile phone interference.
