Description

The MD 969 is a twin-engine, light scout and attack helicopter developed by MD Helicopters following the MD 900/902 aircraft series. The new combat aircraft features multi-mission capabilities armed with a variety of gun pods and rocket launchers along with a targeting pod placed at the forefront of the airframe. The aircraft features up to six stations for weapon pods or any other payload. In addition the MD 969 features an all glass cockpit as the one provided to the MD 530G aircraft. The MD 969 is expected to stay airborne for up to three hours carrying up to six-man and crossing ranges of up to 422 miles (700 kilometers). MD Helicopters launched the new MD 969 combat helicopter at Heli-Expo in early March 2019 and is expected to be available for military customers in the early 2020s.
