Variants
PP-91M
The PP-91M is also known as the PP-2005) is a modified version of the PP-91 and was introduced around 2008, although some sources suggest from as early as 2005.
PP-2005M
The PP-2005M set has been supplied to Russia on KaMAZ-63501 trucks. After successful evaluation, it was accepted for delivery in 2013, with the first known delivery occurring in 2014, although this was not officially announced until late 2017. The PP-2005M was designed by the Vympel Design Bureau and the Okskaya Sudoverf JSC shipyard, with main production undertaken by the Okskaya Sudoverf JSC shipyard, with some components produced elsewhere. The PP-2005M is the latest (as of 2023) development of the PP-91M/PP-2005 to enter production. One complete set is based on 54 trucks, a change from Ural-53236 to KaMAZ-63501 with the introduction of the PP-2005M. As with immediately preceding generations, the PP-2005M consists of 32 offshore sections/river links, eight motorized sections/links, and four end sections/shore links. The offshore sections/river links, while overall a similar design and of the same dimensions, were reportedly newly developed for the PP-2005M, with the motorized and shore links taken from existing systems. It is reported that the PP-2005M is supplied with BMK-MT or BMK-MO bridging boats. One PP-2005M set can be used to assemble a single pontoon bridge 268 m in length and 14 m wide that has two lanes and is capable of carrying 120,000 kg in a current of up to 3 m/s. Eight ferries with a load capacity of 90,000 kg each, four ferries with a load capacity of 190,000 kg each, or two ferries with a load capacity of 380,000 kg each can be assembled. Ferries can be single, one-and-a-half, or double-width.
