Description
The Mars-L is a mobile, L-band air surveillance radar designed for medium-range air traffic control (ATC) or as a gap filler for radar coverage. Operating within the 1250 to 1350 MHz frequency range, it features a new horn-type radiator and additional antennas for sidelobe suppression. The system has an instrumented range of 80 nautical miles (150 km) with a range resolution of 230 meters and an accuracy of 150 meters in range and 0.4 degrees in azimuth. Qualified personnel can deploy or stow the radar in 10 minutes, and it uses the ASTERIX (CAT 001, 002) protocol for data acquisition and output.
