Description

The SAPM Chinese Anti-Personnel Mine is a high-explosive (HE), scatterable, tripwire-actuated, anti-disturbance, anti-personnel (AP), fragmentation, landmine similar to the Russian POM-2, with self-destruct (SD) settings ranging 2 days 18 hours to 15 days 7 hours.

Tripwires During the arming sequence, two metallic tripwires are deployed between 2 meters (6.56 feet) and 10 meters (32.81 feet).
Scattering System The SAPM may be emplaced by landmine scattering systems, 122-millimetre rockets, infantry landmine deploying equipment or by hand and is normally olive drab with no obvious markings or stampings. Canisters for vehicle-based scattering systems (mounted on trucks or tracked minelayers) hold 15 landmines.
