Description

The Kh-25MSE features improved propulsion system, longer body fuselage, increased speed, improved guidance system and increased maximum launch altitude up to 12,000 meters compared to 5,000 meters on basic Kh-25 versions. It has been designed to hit a wide range of surface and ground small targets released from both fixed and rotary wing aircraft under adverse weather and day/night conditions at ranges up to 40 kilometers. These targets must remain stationary or near stationery because Kh-25MSE is a fire and forget weapon. Its guidance system combines the inertial navigation system with GLONASS satellite positioning system (counterpart to US GPS) as well as differential correction signals coming from coastal stations.
