Description

The RB-504P-E Silok is an innovative surface-to-air missile system developed by Russia and intended to counter small unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) at short ranges. The Silok missile has been designed to hit very small airborne targets at distances of up to 500 meters. Very small targets such as mini-drones pose a real threat as it has been proven during the military conflict in Ukraine. The new missile system is safe for the launch platform in the sense that it has a small warhead that allows for target neutralization at very close range. The Russian Armed Forces deployed the Silok missile system in August 2022 along the Pantsir-S1 mobile air defense system. Each Pantsir-S1 system is equipped with package containing four missiles.
