Description

The S8000 Banderol is an innovative cruise missile with an estimated range of 500 kilometers and the ability of being released from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and combat helicopters. The Banderol missile is powered by a turbojet engine developing a top speed of 620 kilometers per hour flying at low altitude and features a stealth airframe to evade hostile air defenses. It has been designed for launch from the Orion strike drone and the Mi-28NM attack helicopter. The missile carries a 114 kilograms warhead to take out ground targets. The Russian Armed Forces employed the Banderol cruise missile for the first time in May 2025.
