Description
The Siper is a long-range air defense system being developed by Turkey since October 2018 with the aim to conduct the first tests by the end of 2021. The new missile system is expected to be built using Turkish domestically developed technologies with some assistance provided by the Russians through the state-of-the-art S-400 air defense system purchased by Ankara in 2017. The Siper air defense system may enter into service within the Turkish Armed Forces in the 2025-2030 timeframe.
