Description

The SR-3 is an X-band (9.0-9.2 GHz) solid-state Surface Movement Radar (SMR) designed for air traffic control, operating with a pulse repetition frequency of 16,384 Hz and a peak power of 75 W. It detects non-cooperative targets and obstacles like ground vehicles and aircraft, complying with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and EUROCAE standards, and outputs raw video in ASTERIX CAT-240 format. The system features two fully redundant transmit/receive channels and an open architecture with industry-standard interfaces for integration into existing air traffic control systems. Its nominal circularly polarized, slotted waveguide antenna has a gain of 37 dB, a 0.35° beamwidth, and provides an inverse cosecant squared beam pattern with a 10-degree elevation beamwidth, rotating at 60 revolutions per minute; the SR-3 is also compatible with various other antenna types, facilitating legacy system replacements.
