Description

The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Marine Lizard is an amphibious assault armored vehicle drone developed to support landing in enemy shores. It was built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group under China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) and delivered in April 2019. The Marine Lizard vehicle is fitted with two machine guns and anti-aircraft and anti-ship vertical-launch missile systems to provide fire support during landing operations. It also includes a radar system and electro-optical sensor while the navigation system is reliant on the Beidou satellite navigation system. As a trimaran ship the tracked vehicle is propelled by diesel powered waterjet engines reaching a maximum speed of 50 knots. As a land vehicle, the 12-meter long vehicle can travel at a maximum speed of 20 kilometers per hour. The Marine Lizard has a maximum operating range of 1,200 kilometers and is expected to perform along unmanned aerial and sea assets such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned ships.
