Description

The G-Wagon is a high mobility tactical vehicle available in 4x4 and 6x6 chassis configuration utilizing extensive Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components from Mercedes-Benz commercial range. These vehicles are suitable for missions such as troops transport, reconnaissance or towing trailers or artillery. The G-Wagon vehicle family includes five basic versions: station wagon, van-type, open vehicle, single cab, 6x6 single cab and 6x6 with dual cab vehicle. Besides, the G-Wagon platform is also available as 4x4 light armored protected vehicles for security, military and police customers (G300 ILAV, G300 VR6 and G300 VR7). The Light Armored Patrol Vehicle (LAPV) is an armored version focusing on the balancing of armor protection, payload capacity and agility for military customers. The G-Wagon tactical vehicle family is powered by Mercedes-Benz commercial range of turbocharged diesel engines. The 300 CDI and 280 CDI are state-of-the-art turbocharged common rail Euro 5 or Euro 3 diesel engines developing 135 kW of power and allowing a top speed of 120-160 kilometers per hour. The G-Wagon family vehicles can transport a payloads between 1-ton to 3-ton (only 6x6) depending on the vehicle chassis and mission configuration. They can be airlifted by fixed-wing aircraft such as the C-130 Hercules or by helicopter underslung beneath the aircraft. The LAPV 6.X and LAPV 7.X are two concept vehicles offering greater agility, higher protection, and heavier payload capacity than the 280 CDI LAPV 5.4 armored tactical vehicle. The enhanced LAPV concept vehicles key features are high ground clearance (450mm), variable lift front and rear coil-over air shock absorbers, fording depth of 1,000 mm, high performance hydraulic braking system, modular armor plates, installation of additional plates such as the optional mine deflector plate on the vehicle floor for at least STANAG level 2a protection, and EADS jamming system to neutralize enemy communications and radio-controlled explosive devices. LAPV 6.X and 7.X vehicle concepts can offer STANAG Level 2 or Level 3 protection.
