The TATRA T 815-7 is a family of tactical military truck system designed to operate in extremely difficult terrain and climate conditions, to support peacekeeping missions and to be used in warfare operations worldwide. Its chassis has outstanding driving characteristics on harsh terrain and its resistance to torsion, flexion and vibrations is suitable for transportation of troops, ammunition, electronic devices, radar and other special containers. The T 815-7 vehicle is also suitable for fire fighting and law enforcement operations. Fully compliant with NATO and civil standards, this truck system is available in 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 configurations. The T 815-7EOR89 is a 10x10 version which has only been produced as a prototype not being available in the T 815-7 product line. The TATRA T 815-7 platform allows to use a wide variety of engines and power trains ranging from TATRA's air cooled diesel engines to water-cooled engines made by foreign manufacturers as well as third party's mechanical or automatic transmissions. Standard features for this vehicle family include: low vehicle construction enabling air transport of the vehicles by C-130 aircraft; all wheel drive with differential locks, CTIS system enabling re-inflation of tires during the drive; high payload on and off road; optional armored cab with protection up to STANAG 4569 using add-on armor kits which also protects windows; advanced pneumatic suspension for variable ground clearance; small turning radiuses where powerful engines and automatic transmissions qualify the truck to meet requirements for high acceleration, and where perfect mobility necessary for fighting fires in areas inaccessible to other vehicles is a standard.
