Description
The Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) is an Indian Air Force program intended to develop a new missile system in partnership with IAI of Israel. The MRSAM project is valued at 10,075 crore (100.75 billion Indian Rupees) and was launched in December 2009. The missile system can detect incoming targets at ranges of 100 kilometers engaging them at ranges of up to 70 kilometers. In March 2017, the Indian Army plans call for the procurement of 40 MRSAM missile systems starting in 2023. The first missile system was delivered on September 9, 2021.
