Description
The French Ministry of Defense has a requirement for 700 VBCIs at an estimated cost of €3 billion ($3.8 billion). Currently, The VBCIs are scheduled for delivery between 2008 and 2015. The VBCI VCI (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) is intended to provide an armored transport and fire support for the French infantry. The original plan was that France required 550 VBCI in the VCI configuration but that number has been cut down to 520.
