Description

Sea Mine 2000 is an smart naval influence mine being designed and manufactured in Finland by Patria with many components coming from COTS (Commercial Off-The Shelf). The sea mine program aim is to modernize Finnish Navy's mine warfare capabilities. The Sea Mine was born under the Advanced Sea Mine development program that included research and development, production definition and prototype phases. In early December 2004, Patria was awarded a contract valued at several million euros to provide training equipment, maintenance and technical/logistics support services as well as a firm order for Sea Mine 2000. Deliveries of Sea Mine 2000 to the Finnish Navy were planned to run from 2004 through 2008. Patria will act as prime contractor for the project. Other Finnish contractors related to this program are: Aspocomp Oy, Forcit Oy, Patria Weapon Systems and Sinex Oy.
