Description

The CV90 MkIV is a fifth generation infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) featuring latest NATO electronic architecture to support future growth capabilities and unprecedented situational awareness. The CV90 MkIV is powered by a new Scania diesel engine rated at 1,000-hp, the latest X300 heavy-duty transmission and the gross vehicle weight has increased from 35 tons to 37 tons. Besides, the new IFV is equipped with an active protection system and optionally the vehicle may be provided with an unmanned turret. BAE Systems introduced the new CV90 MkIV armored vehicle in January 2018 with the aim to deliver a functional vehicle in 2019 or 2020. The first prototype was unveiled at DSEI in September 2021.
