Description

The AN/APY-10 is an X-band, long-range, multifunction airborne radar developed by Raytheon E-Systems in the United States for the Boeing P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft. Optimized for maritime, littoral, and overland surveillance, it features a periscope detection mode, long-range detection and classification of maritime targets, and synthetic aperture radar for overland surveillance, with an instrumented range of 250 nautical miles (approximately 470 km). This mechanically scanned radar is a development of Raytheon’s AN/APS-149 radar and replaces the AN/APS-137, offering reduced size, lighter weight, and lower power consumption. The Indian version, AN/APY-10(I), includes additional air-to-air modes.
