Description

The Zubin, also known as the Iranian Iron Dome, is a short-range air defense system developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran to counter emerging threats. The Zubin consists of a 6x6 truck mounted radar system along eight vertically launched surface-to-air missiles with a maximum range of 20 kilometers. The radar system can detect and track up to 100 targets at a distance of 30 kilometers. The weapon system is specially well suited against swarm of drone attacks. The Zubin weapon system is capable of taking out cruise missiles, aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aircraft and munitions. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard deployed Zubin weapon systems around Tehran in late October 2024.
