Podsolnukh-E
The Podsolnukh-E (Russian designator: 5P21, Cyrillic: 5П21 «Подсолнух-Э», meaning "sunflower") is a bistatic, stationary, over-the-horizon surface wave radar operating in the HF band (3-30 MHz). It functions as a coastal surveillance radar, designed for all-weather detection of surface craft and air targets by continuously monitoring sea areas and airspace within the Exclusive Economic Zone. The system can automatically detect, track, and classify up to 300 sea and 100 air objects beyond the radio horizon, determining their coordinates with an accuracy of ±2 km and ±1°, and issuing target designations to naval and air defense weapon systems. A distinguishing feature is its giant receiving antenna array, which can be up to 5 kilometers long and 5 meters high, with the transmitter and receiver sites separated by 0.5 to 3.5 kilometers. The radar covers a sector of up to 120 degrees, has an instrumented range of 370 km (200 nautical miles), and a maximum power consumption of 200 kW. The Podsolnukh radar system passed Russian government tests in 2006; the 'E' in Podsolnukh-E denotes the export version.
