Description
The M18 (T48) American Anti-Personnel Mine is a high-explosive (HE), control-fired, electrically (or non-electrically) initiated, directional fragmentation, anti-personnel landmine.

Fragmentation
The fragmentation is cubes of steel with a side of 6 millimetres for a mass of 0.8 grams each.
700 in number, assembled in a single layer against the explosive layer, they are not stuck in a die and offer poor aerodynamic quality.
Note
Initially called the T48 Claymore by the engineers, the army named the new landmine the M18 Claymore and deployed them in the field.
The original M18 Claymore is characterised by the presence of 3 foldable legs, the location of the detonator wells on the sides and produced in two versions, with or without a sighting system.
