Description
The Taiwanese Navy's Hsun Hai, also referred to as Tuo Jiang class, is a 500-ton class stealth missile corvette intended to engage surface ships and submerged submarines. The Hsun Hai class corvettes can be armed with eight Hsiung Feng II and/or Hsiung Feng III anti-ship missiles, a 76mm naval gun, four 12.7mm machine guns, a Mk 15 Phalanx close-in weapon system and two tripe Mark 46 torpedo tubes. The ship features a twin-hull (catamaran), has a crew of 41-man and a maximum range of 2,000 nautical miles achieving a top speed of 38 knots. The first Hsun Hai corvette was commissioned by the Republic of China Navy by the end of 2015 with 12 vessels expected to be commissioned by 2025.
