Description
The Type 86 Chinese 100mm Towed Anti-Tank Gun is similar in all respects to the Type 56 (85 mm) towed howitzer, apart from a larger caliber smoothbore barrel taken from the Type 73 Russian 100mm Anti-Tank Gun.

The Type 86 (APFSDS), with a tungsten penetrator. It has a muzzle velocity of 1,610 m/s with an effective range of 1,800 m. When firing this round, the maximum stated rate of fire is 4 to 5 rds/min. Additionally, there is the Type 73 (APFSDS) with tungsten alloy penetrator. The projectile has a length-to-diameter ratio of 13.3:1 and a maximum range in the direct fire role of 1,730 m.
