Description

The People's Republic of China (PRC) DF-11, also known as M-11 for the export market or CSS-7 East Wind Western designation, is a Short Range Ballistic Missile (SRBM) intended as a replacement for Scud-sized missiles. It can be equipped with either a conventional or nuclear warhead. M-11 designation refers to DF-11 missiles propelled by a single-stage filled with solid propellant. The M-11 missile system is road-mobile through a Tractor-Erector-Launcher (TEL) vehicle. The M-11 ballistic missile's maximum range doesn't exceed 300 kilometers. China exported the single-stage M-11 missile to Pakistan where its is known as the Shaheen or Hatf-3. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) artillery units have deployed the M-11 missile targeting Taiwan along the Chinese coast surrounding the island.
