Description

The Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared Polar Earth Orbit Space Vehicles (Next Gen OPIR PEOSV) is a US Air Force program aimed at delivering two IR surveillance satellites in the 2020s. Northrop Grumman is expected to be awarded a contract for two satellites before 2022. The PEOSV satellites launch are planned to begin in 2027 and conclude in 2029 when the Next Gen OPIR constellation is expected to achieve full operational capability.
