Description
The Cobra King, formerly known as Cobra Judy Replacement (CJR), is a mobile, dual-band range instrumentation radar suite deployed on the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen. It serves as an early warning radar, replacing the original Cobra Judy system. The suite comprises an S-band phased-array radar, designed by Northrop Grumman, for weather-independent long-range surveillance, and an X-band system by Raytheon for more accurate target tracking, which also possesses a search capability.
