Description

The ACS-3 Ukrainian Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is the military variant of the Raybird-3, developed and produced for the Ukrainian Air Force under a government defense procurement contract. This UAV is designed for long-range endurance missions and is capable of surveying extensive areas. Its airframe features an aerodynamically shaped fuselage that accommodates the UAV’s engine, a retractable ventral payload/airbag bay, a fuel tank, an electronics compartment, and a parachute housing. The design includes mid-mounted tapered wings with downward-curved wingtips and a twin tail boom with an inverted U-tail. The vertical fins are designed with a tapered, swept-back configuration.

Air & Air Defense Specifications
Engine 1 × piston engine. The UAV is powered by a 2.6 kW (3.5 hp), 40.2 cc, four-stroke petrol/gasoline engine that runs on a mixture of A95 fuel and two-stroke oil, and which drives a two-bladed tractor propeller. The UAV tank has a fuel capacity of 9 liter. (3 hp)
Max Speed 75.6 km/h
Range 1350.0 km
Endurance 18.00 hrs
Service Ceiling 3500 m
Wingspan 2.96 m
Payload Capacity 7 kg
Variants
Raybird 3 The civilian configuration offered for domestic and export markets.
ACS-3M Electronic warfare-capable variant.

Alternate Designation ACS-3
Type Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
Manufacturer Aircraft Industrial Company ‘Skyeton'
Payload Capacity 7.0 kg
Mission Payloads The ACS-3 UAV payloads include gyro-stabilized multi-sensor gimbal (video, thermal, orthogonal, and spectral sensors), and a pest control dispensing system that can deliver measured doses of Trichogramma (a 1 mm or less polyphagous wasp that kills some 200 species of pest) over an area of up to 2,000 ha in a single sortie.
Guidance System ACS guidance and control features include automatic flight functionality, a manual control mode with encrypted digital datalink, GPS-based targeting, and an autonomous ground control station (GCS).
Transportation Transported in a 1,350×650×450 mm (53×26×18 in) carrying container, which fits into an SUV. The UAV breaks down into a fuselage module, two wing surfaces, two tail boom/fin assemblies and a horizontal stabilizer for transport, which can be assembled under 25 min.
Operating Temperature -25°C and +45°C.
Launch The UAV is launched by means of a catapult launcher.
Recovery The UAV is recovered inverted by means of a parachute, and an airbag that cushions it against impact shocks.
