Description
The Basir is a programmable, automated, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by the Islamic Republic of Iran capable of gathering samples from areas contaminated with chemical materials and keep an eye on areas afflicted with natural disasters. Basir flies according to the flight plan in the specified routes and land in the same take-off point after ending its mission. Besides, the Basir drone can be armed with a variety of weapons to be used for other missions such as urban warfare, reconnaissance and surveillance missions. The existence of this new UAV was reported by the Iranian press in April 2015.
