Description

The CSK-141 Chinese 4x4 Light Tactical Vehicle is a Gen 2.5 vehicle described as a “protective assault” platform. It provides an infantry section with protected mobility and several mission system options. It appears to be the PLA's primary general-purpose vehicle. The layout of the CSK141 is as per the CSK131, but it has an extended wheelbase (believed to be increased to 4 m over the 3.3 m of the CSK131) that allows additional room for dismounts. As a result, the vehicle can carry eight dismounts in the rear compartment, arranged on two rows of four seats that face inwards. The second set of doors is also modified to be more suitable for the vehicle's role, focusing more on armoured assault operations. The resultant doors open horizontally, the two halves folding up or down, facilitating access and faster. The door at the rear of the platform is as per the CSK131.

CSK-141A The CSK-141A is a variant of the CSK1-41. The differences between the two vehicles are unclear, however, it is possible that the “A” is a production-improved variant equipped with more modern systems.

Note The CSK-141 and other variants can tow the CQG-141 off-road trailer during operations. Dongfeng states that the trailer can carry 1,100 kg of equipment and has a base weight of 900 kg. It can achieve a top speed greater than or equal to 100 km/h on roads, climb a 40% gradient, and overcome a 380 mm vertical obstacle. Its dimensions are length 3.97 m × width 2.14 m × height 1.91 m. The company also states that a field kitchen variant is available.
