VLRA 2

The VLRA (Vehicule de Liaison de Reconnaissance et d'Appui / Liaison, Reconnaissance and Support Vehicle) 4x4 is a family of all wheel drive military trucks developed by ACMAT and capable of carrying payloads ranging from 1.5-ton to 3.5-ton. The VLRA 2 is a follow-on development based upon a 4x4 chassis capable of carrying a payload between 2 and 4.5 tons or up 17 persons. Compared with the VLRA1, the new vehicle is heavier, has a larger cargo capacity and provides a greater range thanks to its Euro 5 190-hp turbo diesel intercooler engine. ACMAT has developed a 15-ton class Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle based on the VLRA 2 chassis. The VLRA 2 4x4 is a multipurpose tactical vehicle that carry a load of 4.5-ton over ranges of up to 1,400 km using two fuel tanks (2 x 180-l). The vehicle's cab accommodates a three-man crew with seating for up to 14 passengers in the rear compartment. It can be equipped with small caliber weapons such as 12.7mm and 7.62mm machine guns or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher as well as anti-tank and anti-air missile systems. The VLRA 2 vehicle can be airlifted by tactical transport aircraft such as the C-130, C-160 and A400M as well as CH-47 helicopters.
