Description
The Project 17A is a class of seven improved stealth frigates to be build by Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) for the Indian Navy. MDL will take care of four frigates and GRSE will take care of the remaining three ships. As of May 2010 the Project 17A frigate is still in the design phase. In October 2018, India selected the LRSAM missile system for the Project 17A frigates.
