Description

The DRBJ 11, also known by its manufacturer designation TRS 3501, is a naval S-band air search and target designation radar with an instrumented range of 360 km. Its antenna is a rotating planar phased array, 3.0 meters in diameter, that electronically scans in both bearing and elevation. The circular aperture comprises 1,000 to 1,500 spiral-shaped radiating elements, each equipped with a processor-controlled module featuring a PIN-diode phase shifter. The antenna rotates at 15 revolutions per minute, providing 1 to 2 hits per scan.
