Description
The HTRS (Hava Trafik Radar Sistemi) is an S-band approach radar system designed for both military and civil air traffic control. Operating at frequencies between 2.7 and 2.9 GHz, it offers instrumented ranges of 60, 80, or 100 nautical miles (approximately 110, 150, or 180 km). Developed in cooperation between ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK, ASELSAN was responsible for the radar, communication, and recording systems, while TÜBİTAK developed the software. The first HTRS unit was delivered to the Turkish Air Force in February 2023, with a total of 11 airfields in Turkey slated for equipment with this system.
