Description
The Pantsir-SMD is a new modification of the Pantsir ground-based mobile air defense system intended to counter attacks from swarm of drones. The Pantsir-SMD lacks the two automatic 30mm cannons from previous versions but can be outfitted with cells of four small anti-drone missiles replacing the larger tube-launched surface-to-air missiles. The Pantsir-SMD air defense system was unveiled in August 2024.
