Description
The Qader, 'Mighty' or 'Capable' in English, is a long-range anti-ship missile developed in Iran. It has a maximum range of 200 kilometers. The Qader or Ghader could be used for a blockade of the Persian Gulf in the Strait of Hormuz area using both warships and ground-based launch sites as well as airborne platforms. Iran claims that this new missile is provided with technology to minimize its detection by radar. The Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) deployed this new anti-ship cruise missile in September 2011.
