Description

The FBPAR (Fixed-Base Precision Approach Radar), also known as AN/FPN-67, is an X-band ground-based precision approach radar system manufactured by Raytheon Company for the U.S. Army. This air traffic control radar provides an instrumented range of 15 nautical miles (approximately 28 km) with an azimuth accuracy of 0.34 degrees, an elevation accuracy of 0.23 degrees, and a range accuracy of 88 feet. Its pedestal can cover up to six predetermined runway approaches, operating in a track-while-scan mode with an update rate of less than one second, and can be controlled remotely or locally. The system's electronics are housed in a fixed standard ISO shelter (8 ft x 20 ft x 8 ft) located near the runway, while the elevation radome is 3.85 meters high and the azimuth radome is 2.2 meters wide, covering ±10 degrees in azimuth and -1 to +6 degrees in elevation.
