Description

The Il-96T is a long-range, wide-body freighter derived from Il-96-300 airliner and featuring a stretched fuselage equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines and Rockwell Collins avionics. The aircraft maximum payload capacity is 92 tons distributed inside 32 international containers, but typically carries a 58-ton payload on routes of up to 9,700 kilometers. The Il-96T freighter is powered by four US-built PW2037 engines rated at 37,000 pounds of thrust. These engines are far more reliable and fuel efficient than Russian-built PS90A turbofans. The maiden flight was carried out on May 16, 2007. Russian type certification was awarded in March 1998 and FAA type certification in June 1999.
