Description
The Victory-class corvettes are multi-purpose ships designed by Lurssen shipyard in Germany for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). The first ship was built in Germany and the remaining five in Singapore and commissioned by RSN in 1990 and 1991. These corvettes are powered by four 4 MTU 16V 538 TB93 diesel engines developing 15,020-hp and a top speed of 35 knots. The Victory-class corvettes weapon system comprises an OTO Melara 76mm dual purpose gun, eight Harpoon anti-ship missiles, 16 Barak vertical-launch surface-to-air missiles, and two triple 12.75-in torpedo tubes. The sensor package includes: ZW06 air and surface search radar, Type 2064 sonar and Salmon Variable Depth Sonar (VDS).
