Description

The SiRTAP is a multi-purpose unmanned aircraft system (UAS) developed by Airbus Defense and Space since 2015 to meet the requirements of Spain and Colombia. The SiRTAP drones are intended to replace the Searcher Mk II drones within the Spanish Armed Forces. The Spanish Government agreed to buy nine systems (27 drones) in July 2023 under a 595 million Euro contract. Spain will take delivery of the new drone system in 2026. Each SiRTAP system consists of three drones, each capable of staying airborne for 20 hours carrying a150-kilgoram payload at an altitude of 21,000-ft. The drones are intended to perform area surveillance, force protection, signals, electronic and communications intelligence.
